Just a small THANK YOU to all of you who helped us over the past year and one-half attempting to get us "approved for loan modification program," per the message we received on the phone today from Bank of America, with Jennifer Torres/ULG.

While we still need to see that BOA does, in fact, what they said they would do (trial period, until "permanent modification"), we will definitely send our monthly payments as required (RRR) and let you know how the case proceeds.

As from the beginning, our faith and trust remains first and foremost in God. We chose to also place our trust in the United Law Group to help us with one of the most fearful and terrifying situations of our lives: saving our home for our parents and ourselves.

Once gain, our sincere appreciation to those of you who have worked diligently and professionally on our behalf throughout this ordeal to the point we are at today, and hopefully through successful conclusion.

May God continue to bless and guide you/ULG so that you might stay the course for all of your clients and continue to honor yourselves, individually and as a Group.

Sincerely,

Mike & Pat M.

In Loving Memory of Alan Taylor

Alan Taylor's family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to United Law Group for the firm's efforts on behalf of their brother. It is their hope that Alan's story will prevent further tragedy and help others who are battling their lender.

Alan Taylor was a homeowner from Rio Vista, CA. He liked hunting, fishing, football, and baseball. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with his family and his friends.

On April 5, 2010 he received an offer for a trial modification from Bank of America. He responded immediately and the bank accepted his payments on April 22. They foreclosed and sold his home just 10 days later. In a moment of despair, Alan took his own life.
(You can see in the documentation below that BofA took Alan's money and still preceded to sell his home.)

Tragically, this is not the only story of its kind. For too long the banks have victimized American citizens with their unlawful and unethical practices. They have shifted the blame to the people and refused to shoulder responsibility for their actions. It is time to take a stand.

UNITED we can put a stop to the lies. Alan Taylor's death will not be in vain. His life and the lives of others who have fought valiantly to save their families from homelessness will fuel our resolve to expose the truth. Standing UNITED against the tyranny of the banks, the American public can help those who feel alone and force the banks to right the wrongs they have committed.

"UNITED" WE WILL STAND.

United Law Group is establishing a memorial fund for Alan Taylor.

Bank of America to pay $108M in Fees for Borrowers Facing Foreclosure.

Bank of America will pay $108 million to settle federal charges that Countrywide Financial, which it acquired nearly two years ago, collected outsized fees from about 200,000 borrowers facing foreclosure.

It's the latest evidence of misconduct at Countrywide, once an industry giant that has since fallen. Last year, three top executives, including former CEO Angelo Mozilo, were charged with civil fraud and insider trading by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The settlement, which seeks to refund money to about 200,000 borrowers, was announced by the Federal Trade Commission. It is the largest mortgage industry settlement for the agency, which oversees non-banking functions such as debt collection. The FTC has been criticized for failing to protect consumers from abuse by financial companies.

Chase Sued: Allegedly Told Homeowner To Stop Payments, Then Foreclosed

JPMorgan Chase told a California couple to quit making mortgage payments in order to qualify for a loan modification but then foreclosed on their Sacramento home, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court.

Faiz and Khadija Jahani called Chase in December 2008 because they were having trouble making their mortgage payments. According to the suit, they were told that they wouldn't qualify for a modification without being delinquent and that they should stop making payments for 3 months.
The Jahanis claim that they were told they qualified for a modification that reduced their monthly payments. Three weeks later, they received a letter telling them the bank intended to foreclose. This confusing back-and-forth continued for months, with Chase repeatedly asking them to resend paperwork, according to the complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California/Sacramento Division.

BofA Sued for Not Modifying Home Loans

Homeowners have sued Bank of America, saying the bank failed to keep a promise to modify mortgages of homeowners in trouble as a condition of accepting $25 billion in bailout money.

In a lawsuit filed Monday in Seattle federal court, two Washington residents accuse the largest U.S. bank of favoring its own interests over those of homeowners. The residents are seeking class-action status.

United Law Group Files Suit Against Bank of America on Behalf of John Wright

This case states that though John Wright qualified for a mortgage modification under the Federal Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP), he was denied access to the government-sponsored plan.

After representing John Wright for 13 months in his quest to negotiate with his lender Bank of America and its subsidiary Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., United Law Group filed a lawsuit against the bank for breaches of contract, violation of state and federal laws, and the distress caused to Mr. Wright by the allegedly unscrupulous and dishonest actions and misrepresentations made by the bank.

Treasury Unleashes Foreclosure 'SWAT Teams'

The Treasury Department has started dispatching what it calls foreclosure "SWAT teams" to big banks to take a hard look at their operations. The administration says it is cracking down on mortgage companies that aren't doing enough to implement President Obama's program to prevent foreclosures.

Listen To The Authorities Speaking on These Serious Issues:

Increasing Numbers of Californians are Suing Lenders to Avoid Foreclosures

Two weeks before their Sunnyvale home was to be auctioned off on the courthouse steps, Sonia Leverman and her sons seized on a desperate David-vs.-Goliath strategy: They sued their lender.

Everything else the Levermans tried had already failed. By turning to the courts, they joined a growing number of fearful and frustrated California homeowners who hope litigation will allow them to hold onto the American dream & maybe even at a lower monthly mortgage cost.

In the last five years, the number of foreclosure lawsuits filed in federal court in California has ballooned - like an exploding adjustable-rate mortgage - from only 29 statewide in 2005 to nearly 1,400 last year.
Many such lawsuits also are filed in state courts, which don't track the numbers or the outcomes. The striking increase in suits against lenders reflects the difficulty many with underwater mortgages are having in getting loan modifications, either through the government program or the banks themselves.

Mortgage Lenders Pursue Homeowners Even After Foreclosure

As terrible as it is to lose your house to foreclosure, at least it's a relief to put your biggest financial headache behind you, right? - Wrong.

Former homeowners may still be on the hook if there's a difference between what they owed on their mortgage and what the bank could sell it for at auction. And these "deficiency judgments" are ticking time bombs that can explode years after borrowers lose their homes. It can even happen to people who got their bank to approve them selling their home for less than it is worth.

REST Report Puts Loan Disposition Data Used by Banks Into the Hands of Consumers

United Law Group today announced that the law firm was granted an exclusive license to use the REST Report when helping distressed homeowners.

ULG was chosen based on its track record for helping homeowners to work toward resolutions with their home loans, including permanent modifications, trial modifications, forbearances, and extensions on sale dates.

The REST Report produces an 11-page document based on property specifics and individual financial details. The information compares, from the bank’s perspective, the cost of foreclosure to the various financial outcomes that could result from modifying a mortgage. Homeowners can use the report to support their specific request for a loan modification or to find out what their other options could be.
